I can see why it was needed in the Nitron but the difference in mechanism with the Rapidstrike makes it an unnecessary faff to install. The mechanical disadvantage of the worm gear is sufficient to stop the motor pretty much dead and prevents too much passive current being generated from the coils as the motor spins down. Regards electrical braking, having been able to test two RSs side by side now both with and without it, I don’t think it’s necessary with upgraded motors. I’ll try and do a full tutorial when I’ve worked out all the bugs and got them working. This is a scratch pad for making a Sharked RS - it’s not a full tutorial, just a place to put notes. Sharked Rapidstrikes: Notebook on some commissions It’s doesn’t fully cover how to ‘Shark’ an RS as I’m doing for commissions but it does provide a jumping off point for other mods and the like. It covers basic rewiring and motor swaps. So I wrote this for the chaps over at BritNerf.
